Introducing Zoho Docs for iPhone

| By Raju Vegesna

We are excited to announce the launch of
Zoho Docs (iTunes link), a native application for iPhone and iPod Touch. This is the first native application from Zoho on a mobile device. It is currently available for free on the AppStore and runs on iPhone/iPod Touch.

The goal for the current version of the application is simple. We wanted to provide easy access to your Zoho documents from your mobile device. All files created, uploaded or shared in Zoho Writer, Sheet, Show or Docs can easily be accessed from this application. You can view documents, spreadsheets, presentations, images & PDFs with in the app.

The app also allows you to upload images from your mobile device to Zoho Docs. Built in search helps you find documents easily.

This is a start for Zoho on the AppStore. We plan to offer native applications for mobile devices, but most of the processing will be done in the cloud. If you are interested in browser based apps, you can access it at

.

We’d like to hear your feedback on our first iPhone App. Also, what other Zoho Apps would you like to see on the AppStore?

  1. Thank you for your interest in Zoho mobile sync. Recently, we’ve released a beta test version of contact sync for iPhone . Please visit our help page from your browser from more details about Contact Sync for iPhone/iPod:

We are also working on Calendar sync support. We’ll release a beta version soon.

  2. Our Company Love to See native Apps on the iPhone but what we really Miss is the two Way Sync between The Calender App and Contact App of the iPad/iPhone and the Zoho Solution. Is this so difficult ? We really like Zoho but the Future is Mobile and the iPad/iPhone Plattform is huge!!!

We cant wait to See this Feature !

  3. Sorry that we don’t support document editing in our app yet (both iPhone and iPad). Support for editing documents is in our roadmap but it might take some time for us to get there. Request you to bear with us until then.

  4. Does Zoho Docs allow one to edit documents on the Ipad?

If not, is there something that may be available soon to make that possible?

  5. Hi Kelli Wheeler,

The Zoho Docs app presents access to only the documents present in our Zoho Docs service. We are working on native apps for various other Zoho services (Invoice, CRM, Projects etc.) which will be made available in the app store very soon.

  6. Hello,
I use Zoho Projects for Business and we have a lot of documents and spreadsheets that I would love to be able to view on Zoho Docs on my iPhone.

I cannot seem to be able to view them or transfer them.

Any ideas on how to do this would be appreciated.

  11. This is great, but what about the CRM app we’ve been asking for years for. What about DROID?. The moblie web browser verison just doesnt cut it!

  12. Would love to see Zoho recruit as a native iphone app, much of the recruiting world is down outside of the office and on the go!

  14. “The app also allows you to upload images from your mobile device to Zoho Docs.”is a perfect feature! The users could take photos anywhere, then upload them to Zoho Docs!

  15. This is a great step. Editing is a good idea, however I think it would be great to be able to email a doc from Zoho docs. This would replace an app like Mailer.

  18. Hi, the most important for me would be to have an iPhone app for Tasks, as now it’s very complicated to use the organiser with ical connection and/or rememberthemilk or other apps… Secondly, the Zoho projects would be very handy to be created as an App. Many thanks!

  19. The good news from Zoho Invoice is, we are working on a mobile app and an iPhone native app. You would be able to access Zoho Invoice on mobile phones very soon.

Once the app is ready, we’ll get in touch with you to use the beta version of the app to give us your suggestions and feedback.

  21. An app for Zoho CRM would be fantastic. The ability to input new contacts without being at a computer would be a huge advantage. Wherever we are the contact info could be put into the pipeline right away.

  22. Thank you for your feedback. The plan is to make Zoho Docs a universal app so it’ll work on iPad as well. We are looking at our business apps to pick the right ones. We will make some of them available on AppStore. It is too soon to say which one though.

We will also look into Android. For other mobile OS, we currently have no plans. We will continue to improve the web version of our mobile app. That is obviously a priority.

  23. Is Zoho also going to build similar apps for Android, WebOS, Symbian, WinMo7 etc.?
I like that Web apps for mobile browsers are the primary focus.
A native version of Zoho Invoice may benefit the most by having a native mobile application to access features such as Camera, GPS, signature of customer etc. on the invoice.
