Some people argue that folders are better… some people argue that labels are the way to go. But really… why choose when you can have both?
Label-filtering Folders
Now you can filter the e-mails you have in a particular folder for any given label. For example, I have my folders organized by the products we have here at Zoho. I have one label for Zoho CRM, one for Zoho Projects, one for Zoho Creator, etc. I also have labels for Engineering, Sales, Marketing, etc… Now I can easily go into my Zoho CRM folders and see only those mails related to Sales.
Applying Labels
We’ve also improved the way you can apply labels to an e-mail – we’ve made it faster and more intuitive. You can do this both from the email list, from within the email or the preview pane:

Flags
You’ll notice in the first picture above that we also distinguish between flags and labels. You can customize your own labels. Flags are fixed to Info, Important and Follow-Up, they are meant to be use for what you need to do with the e-mail, while folders and labels are meant for what topic it refers to.
Folders, labels and flags are an easy and flexible way for you to organize the TON of e-mails you get everyday. Zoho Mail is geared towards use at work, and most people get a lot more mail at work than they do at their personal life, so Zoho Mail reflects that.
IMAP
We also just enabled IMAP for all of our Zoho Mail users. We have had IMAP for a while, but we had it on an “closed beta” of sorts, only enabling it for those who asked for it as we were still doing tests with it. Now we’ve enabled it for everyone. We know IMAP is an important thing for many of our users. You can enable that in the Personalize tab in the setting sections. Read more about how to enable IMAP in Zoho Mail .
Oh! There’s an important corollary to the last point. We had it for a while, but only those who asked for it got it. So, keep asking us for stuff and providing us with your feedback. That’s how we keep improving our product… and, who knows! maybe one of those times we might have want you want, just unnanounced!
