Today's Zoho Projects update brings in a few more goodies.
Project Templates : Zoho Projects has had Tasklist Templates for quite some time now. This has now been enhanced to include defining whole projects as templates. In addtion to defining tasklists, you can now have Milestones (consisting of various tasklists), documents, forum posts & users added to a template. And whenever a new project is created, you needn't start from scratch but make a copy of a suitable project template (whereever applicable).
Bulk Upload Documents : Typically, when a new project gets started, you upload various documents like requirement docs, drawings, design plans, test procedures etc related to that project. What better way than to choose once and upload all of them in one go? Zoho Projects now offers multiple file uploads.
Log time : Logging time has now been made easier. A clock icon comes on moving your mouse over the days in the calendar view. You can click on it and log the time for your tasks in that project.
You can also log time, edit the logged time in the List View under the Timesheet tab now.

This is terrific, when I first started with ZOHO Projects 2 months ago, I almost quit because it takes so much work to set up a new project, and so many of my projects have the same steps to them. I know I suggested this feature as feedback at the time, and I guess enough of us did that you acted on it very quickly! Bravo! Glad I kept my subscription another month.
OMG! I love you guys! The Project Template feature will save us tons of time!!!! I'm very excited and I'm glad you have decided to roll this out. Bulk document uploading is also a nice feature. Now if we can make a document internal (not viewable to the client or certain members) or external, that would be nice as well. Job well done on these features. It's why Zoho Project is THE BEST!
Steve & C Raye : Thanks for your appreciation! Yes, as with most other feature additions, we added project templates since many of you asked for it. And setting access permissions for documents is a nice suggestion indeed. We will explore this further.
Very nice, Can you comment on if there will be a link to Zoho CRM for resource and task sharing?
I have known of the Tasklist templates since I first explored Zoho in July/August 07.It was a good feature even then. But, the recent update which includes defining whole projects as templates is a real boon!! Bravo!! As for bulk upload and improved logging time, as I use and explore further Project's offerings, I know that there will come a time when I will use these.
Adam : Our current priority is to bring Zoho CRM under SSO which we are working on. Once that gets done, more closer integration will follow.

I am FLOORED by the quality of the Projects application. I spent the weekend searching the web to find some kind of applicable project management platform for my small business and there is NOTHING that competes with Zoho Projects from the PM side of things. I hate to even say this because it makes me sound ungrateful...but trust me, I LOVE what you have! The thing I really want to see down the road (okay, yesterday) is the above mentioned links with your CRM product. If there was a way to link accounts/contacts with specific to do items and then share those tasks between Project and the CRM it would be nearly everything I want and need...until I start asking for e-mail integration. ;) Great work so far! You guys are awesome. Let it go to your head for a while...but then get back to work. :)
