Introducing Zoho Business Apps for Apple Watch

Posted by Posted on by

Apple Watch. Enough has been said already.

With the Apple Watch coming out later this week, we are excited to launch three new apps. Apps that complement your phone apps just like your phone apps complement your web apps. More importantly, apps that work harmoniously with their phone and web counterparts, enabling unique use cases for each form factor.

These are our three apps for Apple Watch:

Zoho Expense

Doing expenses is a pain. If there are tools available to ease the pain, we embrace them. The Zoho Expense app for Apple Watch is one such tool.

Mileage tracking and entry is an important part of expense management. Manually tracking and calculating mileage, though, is something we can live without. With the Zoho Expense app, you can automatically track and record your trip mileage right from your watch.

At the start of your trip, simply tap the “Start Tracking”  button within the app, and tap the stop button when after you reach your destination. The mileage is then automatically calculated – with help from the GPS on the iPhone – and the entry is recorded in the Zoho Expense mobile app, which of course is seamlessly synced to the cloud.  A unique use case optimized for a unique device.

Zoholics 2014: Four Events, More Interaction

Posted by Posted on by

With the success of Zoholics events in 2013, we are expanding the number of Zoholics events in 2014. Last year, our Zoholics event was CRM centric. We will host similar event this year and is going to be called ‘Zoholics: Sales & Marketing‘. Apart from that, we are adding three additional events with Productivity & Collaboration, Finance & Developers specific agenda. It will be four Zoholics events in 2014 – one very quarter – focusing on a different set of Zoho applications.

Zoholics: Developers

Zoholics: Sales & Marketing

Zoholics: Productivity & Collaboration

Zoholics: Finance

At Zoho, we like hosting events that enable personal interactions. Interactions that help you learn how to get more out of our products, and we get to understand how you use our products in your business. As the size of the events grow, these personal interactions are lost. To avoid this, we want to keep these events to a manageable size. So the number of available seats for these events are going to be limited. We recommend you block your seat early. Early registrations also will get a chance to pick up one-on-one slots with some of our employees.

Goodbye Badge Scanner, Hello Leads

Posted by Posted on by

Remember the last time you were on booth duty at a trade show, scanning attendees’ badges with the badge scanner provided by the event organizer? If your experience was anything like ours, it looked like this: With just one scanner in the booth, a line often formed as everybody waited to use the same device. To supplement the basic information provided by their badges, you frequently wrote notes on the backs of attendees’ business cards. At the end of the show, you handed the badge scanner back to the event organizer. And waited.

A week later, the event organizer sent you an Excel file with the attendees’ badge information. You took that Excel file and imported the leads into your CRM system. Finally, after seven days or more, you sent out your follow-up emails saying, “Thanks for visiting our booth.” By that time, of course, the attendees have likely forgotten who you are and what you do. And you’ve likely lost all the business card notes because, let’s face it, nobody wants to key in information collected from the hundreds of people and coordinate it with the records in their CRM system.

What if you could replace that dedicated badge scanner with a smart, mobile application that connects directly to your CRM application?

We are excited to announce Leads.

With a badge scanning app running on your smartphone, you can scan badges at any time, from anywhere on the event floor and beyond. In fact, everyone in your company who has a smartphone can run this mobile app, which means everybody can scan badges. Once the badge is scanned, the app automatically extracts all of the information and presents it to you on the mobile device screen. That means you can take notes, add tasks and assign a lead owner — on the spot, while the customer is there with you.

You can also connect the mobile app to backend workflow systems set up in your Zoho CRM system. For instance, whenever you scan a badge at a trade show or event, that information is entered as a new lead in the CRM system and a “thank you” email is sent out immediately, not seven days later.

This is exactly what we’re delivering with Leads. This mobile app complements Zoho CRM to give you immediate access to, and let you take immediate action on, the leads you gather at a trade show or event.

Leads supports QR code scanning, but it’s smart enough to recognize when it can’t scan a QR code. At that point, Leads automatically switches to OCR and scans the readable badge information like first name, last name and company name.

Leads also has a built-in card scanner, so you can take a photo of a business card and automatically populate the related Zoho CRM fields with the card information. Leads will also save an image of the business card itself to Zoho CRM. If the business card includes the person’s Twitter handle, Leads will automatically collect the associated Twitter profile picture and add it to the lead record created in Zoho CRM. You can also enter the Twitter handle manually.

We launched Leads at Zoholics this past week, and all exhibitors at this year’s show used the Leads app to scan the badges of Zoholics attendees. If you’re ready to make the move to a smart, mobile badge scanning app, try Leads. It’s available immediately on iPhone for a one-time fee of $4.99. Android version is in the works.

Countdown to Zoholics

We are just a few days away from Zoholics and we are looking forward to inviting you to the event. We have around 50 sessions lined up for you along with keynotes from Sridhar Vembu, Ray Wang and Chris Silva.

If you haven’t installed the Zoholics mobile app, I recommend doing so. It is available on iPhoneiPad and Android. Presentations for the sessions will be available through our iPhone and iPad apps.

For those of you attending the CRM Training Track, we will be providing CRM training material to complement the sessions. I recommend bringing in your laptops to follow along the speakers.

We will have good number of Zoho employees at the event eager to talk to you and help you. Please take advantage of this opportunity to meet the people behind the products. Also, please do join us at the reception at the end of Day 2.

We also have great set of announcements at the event. We can’t wait to show you. See you in San Francisco next week.

Introducing Business Card Scanner App for Zoho CRM

Posted by Posted on by

Card Scanner App IconEntering data manually into any CRM app is not fun. Any solution that helps automate data entry is a win for CRM users. That is the idea behind our new mobile app for Zoho CRM – Card Scanner.

Card Scanner is an iPhone app that extracts contact information from business cards and saves it into Zoho CRM as Contacts or Leads. Take a photo of a business card and the app extracts information from it and automatically populates the information into the appropriate fields. You can save the extracted information as a CRM Contact or Lead if you are logged into your Zoho CRM account within the app. Read more
