Every day, we talk to thousands of customers by phone, email, chat, social media and in person. Of all these, our favorite way to connect is still live and in person . This has always been the main focus of our Zoholics events. You trust your business with Zoho — so we want to hear the good, the bad, and yes, even the ugly moments you may have had using our products.

Naturally, we also want to talk to you to better understand the needs of your business. We’re ready to go back to the drawing board as many times as necessary to create fresh solutions for your sales and marketing teams.

Zoholics: Sales & Marketing

On behalf of the entire Zoho team, I am delighted to invite you to join us for the 3rd annual Zoholics: Sales & Marketing Conference on July 7th-9th, 2014. This will also be the grand opening of our new office complex in Pleasanton, California.

During our three days together, we’ll focus on Zoho CRM, Campaigns, Support, Survey, and LiveDesk. There will be keynotes tailored to give you insights about the world of cloud business software. We’ll also share our approach on how Zoho will work for you in the coming years. There’ll be over 40 jam-packed training sessions, covering every level of user: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. We’ll also showcase several upcoming features and integrations to help keep you ahead of the curve.

Most importantly, we’ve included plenty of time slots for 1-on-1 meetings with members of our team to receive feedback directly from you and make sure you get immediate answers to your questions.

We hope to see you in July!

Zoho CRM – Discontinuing Integration with LinkedIn

Posted by Posted on by

Back in 2011, to help our customers focus more on selling and less CRMing, we started offering integration with LinkedIn along with various other important features. Our users quickly embraced the integration with leads and contacts modules and it became one of the popular features in Zoho CRM.
Discontinuing integration with LinkedIn
Fast forward to today, we are unhappy to announce the discontinuation of the LinkedIn integration with Zoho CRM immediately. The latest changes in LinkedIn’s Developer API agreement do not allow us to offer this integration to customers any more without strategic partnership. In the past few months, we have been trying our best to convince the team at LinkedIn but we have been unsuccessful. Recently, we received this notice from the LinkedIn API review team:

LinkedIn prioritizes whom we partner with based on strategic alignment, size of opportunity, and current needs. At this time we do not believe your product would add enough sufficient value beyond our existing products to warrant a partnership.  However, given the dynamic nature of our industry, we are continuously evaluating our partnership criteria and potential partners.

At this point, LinkedIn has made a conscious choice to restrict their CRM partners to just two companies. We obviously think that is a bad idea, and we don’t understand how it is in their own interest to adopt this approach. However, we hope they would reconsider this decision. Until then, we have no choice but to discontinue this feature. We are sorry that it has come to this stage.

We will continue to explore the possibilities of strengthening our integration with social platforms, like Facebook, Twitter and others.

Thank you for your support!

Salespoint for Zoho CRM: The iPad App for Field Salespeople

This is a guest post by David Falk, CEO of Salespoint, a Barcelona-based field sales mobile app provider for manufacturing, insurance, electronics and food services.

We believe that the key to successful CRM implementation is to create a win-win situation for sales reps as well as their management. If sales reps are made to realize how they can benefit by using the system (huge saving of time, access to interesting data, etc.), this would in turn enable their management to easily access the information they require for steering the organization.

Today, we’re proud to announce the integration of Salespoint with Zoho CRM.  Read more

gUnify and Zoho CRM – Automatically Log VOIP Phone Calls from Google Apps to CRM

Posted by Posted on by

This is a guest post by Harprit Bhui, coFounder of gUnifya cloud-based Unified Communication System connecting Zoho, Google Apps, and Broadsoft Hosted VOIP.

gUnify is specifically designed and built from the ground up for businesses running Google Apps. It is compatible with hosted PBX systems running on Broadsoft and Zoho CRM. gUnify seamlessly integrates Google Apps, phone systems, and Zoho CRM to enable automatic call tracking and logging directly from Gmail.

As an organization, communication is the key to your success. And not being able to capture the details of your sales and support team’s phone calls in real-time can result in loss of sales, lack in customer service and lost billable time.

gUnify improves your sales and support team’s productivity by tracking individual telephone performance. This is achieved by automatically integrating all phone calls made from the gUnify application. All phone calls made using the gUnify application and associated device (traditional phone, soft phone and mobile) will be automatically pushed to activities module in Zoho CRM; where you can view the details of the call record including: the phone number, who made the call, date/time of call, call duration, notes and tags associated with the call; all in real time.

You can also analyse the key sales and support indicators, such as number of incoming calls, number of outgoing calls, duration of calls and the destination of calls.

Getting started is simple and quick, once gUnify has been installed on your company’s Google Apps domain. Each user of gUnify should perform a few easy installation tasks to enable the gUnify Plug-in for Zoho CRM , which can be found in Settings within the gUnify gadget.

There’s A Better Way To Share Sales Documents: Introducing the Zoho CRM Document Library

Posted by Posted on by

One of the most common requests I get from the Zoho sales team goes like this: ”I am working with a hot prospect who is evaluating our product and X & Y competitors – can you email me all the UPDATED documents asap?”.

Does this sound familiar?

This is really common across any sales & marketing organization. So over time we’ve started using solutions like Zoho Docs, Google Docs, Dropbox or SharePoint, which work really well for general sharing, but they’re missing a critical thing: they don’t talk to your CRM system.

That makes it hard to make sure everyone is using the latest version of the document they need – and also important is the fact that you can’t control who has access to what according to their role and access permissions. Plus, rather than searching for existing documents in computers, mailbox and other places, wouldn’t it be great if our salespeople spent their valuable time on developing a strong sales pipeline?

That’s why today we’re excited to announce the Zoho CRM Document Library, which makes it easy to manage your library of sales collateral, materials, proposals and more, right within Zoho CRM.

Folders & sharing
You have a broad product portfolio and large sales organization spanning across different regions. It’d be a nightmare to try to replicate this structure, with the right permissions anywhere else other than your CRM. The Zoho CRM Document Library uses the same role-based security you’ve defined for your accounts & leads, CRM administrators can easily update the access control permissions.

You can also of course create multiple sub-folders, for collateral, training, legal, etc. to keep all your files organized.

Email documents to prospects
When you send an email to a prospect, you can easily search and attach the required files from the document library to email and save time. You can also link the documents to keep a record of what you’ve sent.

Reviews & Versioning
You can not only maintain collateral up-to-date, but also periodically receive feedback from colleagues and improve the quality of documents. Additionally, you can refer the previous versions and compare the changes.

More Storage Space!
Now that you have this, you’ll be using a lot more space in Zoho CRM. Well, we have good news for all our existing Professional and Enterprise Edition users. From today, you will get 250 MB per user (or 500 MB/user in Enterprise Edition) storage space instead of 250 MB storage space for the whole organization in Professional Edition. So, for example, if your company has subscribed to 20-user license, you will get total 5GB common storage space for all users. We’ve also increased the file storage for free users. I hope that this additional storage helps you centralize your sales collateral.

Sell Globally with Multiple Currencies

Multi-currency

Picture these real-time business scenarios,

  • A big company from Japan is ready to buy your products in bulk, but can pay only in Japanese Yen and not in your local currency.
  • Your supplier (say diamond or gold mining company) from South Africa insists you to raise the Purchase Order only in Rand.
  • You’ve a large sales organization spanning across several countries with head quarters in United States. And in each country you’ve agreed do business in the local currency while obtaining license from the government agencies.
  • You’re running a B2C e-commerce portal to sell designer women’s brands, jewellery and accessories not only to the US customers but to an international audience.
  • You’re in a highly competitive segment and all your competitors are selling products in different currencies to acquire the market share.

Whether Small, Medium or Large, your company will experience one or many of the above scenarios either due to Government regulations or by your business model. Hence your CRM and Accounting software must support the sales transactions & receivables/payable in multiple currencies. Keeping in mind the business needs of companies who deal with such scenarios, we at Zoho CRM offer complete support for multiple currencies to all users of Enterprise Edition.

Let’s quickly take a look at some of the key features of multi-currency support,

As an Administrator you can,

  • Choose the Home Currency for your company.
  • Activate a list of currencies for your sales reps.
  • Update currency conversion rates periodically.

As a Sales rep you can,

  • Use the desired currency while entering amount field in potential or other modules.
  • Generate quotes, sales orders, invoices and purchase orders in different currencies.
  • View sales pipeline report in your home currency.

For detailed description, refer our online help. To make the multi-currency roll-out easier for your company, we’ve also published implementation guide and compiled a few FAQ.

Eating your own dog food: Multi-currency at Zoho Corp.

Zoho Corporation has offices in United States, India, Japan, China, and Singapore selling both on-premise and online software to tens of thousands customers in more than 150 countries. Even though our fiscal currency is USD, customers from India, Japan, China and Singapore, buy products only in Indian Rupee (INR), Japanese Yen (JPY), Chinese Yuan (CNY) or Singapore Dollar (SGD) respectively. As our Sales team across regions use a single Zoho CRM account to track sales activities, implementing multi-currency became very important.

As soon as this feature was ready for the Beta testing, we activated it in our company’s CRM account. Previously, our regional sales managers were manually converting the quoted amount to USD whereas the Finance team were raising invoices in local currency. Now, all of them are directly entering the amount only in the local currency. We also track the consolidated sales pipeline in home currency at the organization-level.

We hope that you’ll find this new feature very useful to go global & grow your business. Please give it a try and let us know your business scenarios, suggestions, and experiences in the Comments box. We will be happy to improve this feature further based on your feedback.

Happy Selling!
