Great news for those who share Zoho Creator apps with multiple people. On the Enterprise Plan, you can now provide access to specific data only to the people you choose. Assign and control access permission to any information in the application, down to every record & field.
Safely share reports or forms
Share your app with internal teams, customers, partners or resellers. Signed-into the same app each of them will only view/edit the data that they are authorized to. With user roles & profile settings, users can view or work with the whole application or only the reports or forms you chose to show.
You can set the access permission for every field in the form or record in the report. Simply create roles, decide what users will be allowed to see and assign them to the roles created. Choose exactly what they see, what they can edit or delete in any application. Zoho Creator offers user authentication and security for all the information on the app.
Take an inventory management application, for example. You want the Senior Manager to see the custom dashboard with monthly report of orders fulfilled, quarter on quarter revenue numbers etc. In the same application, the dispatch team can view and update the dispatch related information. Your store manager can order an item or edit the order requests. And you could enable all the vendors to check out the information pertaining to them without access to other data or reports through a customer portal.
Managing the data set that each user or group of users can view/modify not just impacts data security but makes data sharing and access convenient.

What possible damage could inviting someone to collaborate on a document do to a company? Just ask investment giant JP Morgan. When the New York based trading firm hired an expert across the Atlantic to work on a few spreadsheets, little did they expect that human error — combined with flaws in a financial model developed using the spreadsheet — would result in billions of dollars’ worth of trading losses.
Not every collaboration mistake becomes a fiasco on the level of London Whale. And human error can’t be completely eliminated. But it doesn’t hurt to be careful.
Introducing the Lock feature in Zoho Show.
There’s no need to panic and stop inviting collaborators completely. For those parts of your presentation you don’t want anyone changing, the ‘Lock’ feature lets you lock a full slide or shape so even your invited collaborators can’t alter it.
All you have to do is right-click and select the Lock Slide option when sharing the presentation.
If you change your mind at any point and wish to allow your collaborators to edit the slide you’d locked, just select the Unlock Slide option.
But wait — what if you forget to lock a slide? Are your carefully prepared shapes and clever jokes lost forever? Not to worry. Zoho Show has your back with its automatic version tracking feature. You can easily restore an automatically saved earlier version, irrespective of the number of edits the document has undergone.
You don’t want your boss or a client seeing a 20% forecast projected as 200%, stable growth shown as a nose-diving graph, or misaligned images describing symmetry. These are errors that can end up in the final version of the presentation during a collaborative editing exercise.
But with Slide Lock and version tracking, you can make sure this is exceedingly rare.

IT technicians have a rigorous schedule every day. Not only do they run pillar to post solving issues of internal or external customers, they also are expected to solve issues remotely. It is quite likely that they use remote support software that is available on the market in plenty. But of all them, only few stand out the way Zoho Assist does.
Zoho Assist makes an IT technician’s job an absolute delight by making sessions strikingly fast and letting customers join in a jiffy. It also offers premium features at no cost. And, now, we’ve just reinvented it!
Yes! We have now completely rewritten software, added a few more servers, and achieved maximum session speed. IT support technicians around the world rely on the speed of remote support software to achieve quick resolution. That’s why we now bring you increased screen refresh rates.
Here is the story of how Anand Ethiraj, one of the partners at Hakuna matata, came to fall in love with Zoho Books. Hakuna matata is an app consulting, design and development studio based in Chennai. The company has developed more than 100 mobile & web apps over the years and helped enterprises & startups to go mobile.
Since none of the partners had accounting background, Anand was looking for a tool which was simple and easy to use. As they had customers from across the globe, they were in serious hunt for an accounting software that will support multiple currencies.
They were using Tally, an Indian ERP solution for their accounting needs but they had to spend a lot of time understanding the software and its complexities. That’s when Anand came across Zoho Books. He tried three main features in the app: Invoicing, Expense Management and Bank Synchronization.
Coined by Huseeb Budhani in 2008, “Big Data” has been a big deal for a few years now. Most traditional database systems manage only regular-sized structured databases, and find it difficult to manage the incredible volumes of big data being generated today. To help with this, a number of experimental new “NoSQL” database systems have come into the picture. By making some tradeoffs, NoSQL databases can easily scale to much larger sizes than their more traditional cousins.
To help you analyze the huge volume of raw business data stored in NoSQL databases, Zoho Reports now fully supports analysis and reporting over data in NoSQL databases. You can now use the advanced reporting options offered by Zoho Reports with these NoSQL database systems:
- Apache Cassandra
- Apache Hadoop/Hive
- Cloudera Hadoop/Hive
- Hortonworks Hadoop/Hive
