You can do so much more with Zoho Creator by connecting it to other apps or services you use and simplify the tedious tasks and workflow. Our integration with Zoho Support is another step towards our vision: make managing your business simpler.
Integration with Zoho Support, your help desk software, makes the exchange of information between the two apps seamless. It is now possible to create, update or fetch information from Zoho Support. To suit your business process, you can build custom modules for the Zoho Support application. You could even bring information into your Zoho Creator custom app to build reports and collaborate with other users.
For instance, in your Zoho Creator Order Management app. Your customers can report complaints and a ticket will instantly get created in Zoho Support. The agent can even access the order details empowering him with the relevant information.
Consider another scenario, a company uses Zoho Creator apps to manage the business processes better. For every new customer buying your equipment, a new Annual Maintenance Contract is created. With the integration with Zoho Support, you can automatically schedule the maintenance task based on the contract and assign it to a support agent.
These are just two scenarios. You could add an umpteen number of custom functions for your business needs.
We want you to focus on your business rather than managing the data. We have previously opened up powerful possibilities to extend and enhance your Zoho Creator app with Zoho products like Zoho CRM, Zoho Invoice, Zoho Calendar, Zoho Reports, Zoho Recruit. You can link your Zoho Creator apps to external cloud applications and SMS services like Twilio and Clickatell.
All these additions make it easier to connect Zoho Creator apps to different services and allow seamless flow of information.
Stay tuned, more useful integrations are coming. Meanwhile, please let us know how you use Zoho Creator integrations.
If there’s one feature we had to pick in Zoho Creator that could help you achieve the most, with the least amount of effort, it’s Form Automation.
Form automation is a time-saving addition to Zoho Creator that can make your everyday work easier. It allows you to define your business rules and workflows. The best part is you can do this without any coding.
With this feature, your app can now show/hide fields or sub-forms or complete a set of tasks when a form rule is met while the user fills, submits or modifies a form. You can trigger actions such as displaying custom confirmation messages, redirecting users to different web pages, sending predefined email/SMS notifications based on different rules that are met.
Recently, our facilities team was looking for a simple way to manage purchase orders. They decided to try the Custom Record Summary feature in Zoho Creator and instantly, the tedious task of generating and managing purchase orders was a thing of the past. Needless to say, they were able to retire the old time-consuming purchase order system and process. And, more importantly, now it just takes a few clicks for our facilities team to create beautiful and accurate purchase orders (Print/PDF Version).
In case you missed it, the Custom Record Summary was recently released in Zoho Creator. This versatile feature allows you to create nearly any type of customized template for your business. Once the template is created, Zoho Creator automatically populates the template with your data.
Zoho Creator customers don’t just speak many different languages, but they also collaborate with co-workers, customers and vendors who speak several other languages. App translation is important to our customers. And, here it is.
We’re excited to announce that you can now easily translate your Zoho Creator apps into multiple languages.
Got coworkers, customers, vendors speaking different languages?
Want to share the business app with colleagues in French and Chinese? We’ve made that easy. Create your app in any language and users accessing the app can view it in their preferred language. Break down the language barrier quickly and efficiently, as both speak in your native language.
The difficult part of building a custom business app is not the programming. After all, with Zoho Creator you don’t need to be a programmer. The tougher part is being clear about what your app should do and how it must be structured. Answering the following 5 questions helps you achieve exactly that. So let’s get started.
1) What does this app need to achieve?
Begin by defining the process that you need to automate. Do you need to manage the inventory, sales pipeline, registrations or a more complex set of processes? Note down the process step by step and list out the key pain points that you want your app to solve. Most importantly, determine the different groups of users and keep their requirements in mind.
For example, if you’re building an Order Management application, it would typically consist of order placement, modification & cancellation; inventory check-in/out; and payment processing. The different stakeholders would be the inventory manager, the customer, the delivery team etc.
Great news for those who share Zoho Creator apps with multiple people. On the Enterprise Plan, you can now provide access to specific data only to the people you choose. Assign and control access permission to any information in the application, down to every record & field.
Safely share reports or forms
Share your app with internal teams, customers, partners or resellers. Signed-into the same app each of them will only view/edit the data that they are authorized to. With user roles & profile settings, users can view or work with the whole application or only the reports or forms you chose to show.
You can set the access permission for every field in the form or record in the report. Simply create roles, decide what users will be allowed to see and assign them to the roles created. Choose exactly what they see, what they can edit or delete in any application. Zoho Creator offers user authentication and security for all the information on the app.
Take an inventory management application, for example. You want the Senior Manager to see the custom dashboard with monthly report of orders fulfilled, quarter on quarter revenue numbers etc. In the same application, the dispatch team can view and update the dispatch related information. Your store manager can order an item or edit the order requests. And you could enable all the vendors to check out the information pertaining to them without access to other data or reports through a customer portal.
Managing the data set that each user or group of users can view/modify not just impacts data security but makes data sharing and access convenient.
